Raggi, Choucair hold meeting over ways to enhance consular services

As part of Lebanon's Foreign Ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance consular services through digitization, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Youssef Raggi held a meeting with the Director General of Lebanon’s General Security, Major General Hassan Choucair, and the accompanying delegation.
The discussions focused on equipping Lebanese embassies and consulates general with machines dedicated to receiving biometric passport applications, which would enable Lebanese expatriates to submit their applications directly at diplomatic missions without the need to travel to Lebanon, as is currently required.
The meeting also addressed visa and passport matters, along with a number of other consular issues. In addition, participants discussed the possibility of issuing biocarbon passports in the near future as an alternative to the current biometric passports, as they represent the latest and most secure model.
