Gemayel visits Aoun, says disarming a crucial test

Kataeb Party leader, MP Samy Gemayel, said that the withdrawal of weapons north of the Litani River constitutes a key test for the Lebanese state, Hezbollah’s level of cooperation, and the Lebanese Army’s capacity and speed in carrying out the task.
Speaking from Baabda Palace, Gemayel noted that the upcoming international conference in support of the Lebanese Army would help bolster its capabilities, stressing that the next phase represents "a test for everyone." He said he urged President Joseph Aoun to encourage the army to accelerate the disarmament process north of the Litani.
Gemayel affirmed that President Aoun is "moving in the right direction," pledging to stand by him in efforts to restore state sovereignty. On elections, he underscored the need to enable Lebanese expatriates to vote from abroad in the upcoming parliamentary polls.
