Rain Lasts Until Midday with Frost and Ice to Follow

The Forecasting Department at the Meteorological Service of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation expects a low-pressure system accompanied by cold air masses originating from the Black Sea to affect Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean basin. This will bring unstable and rainy weather, lasting until midday tomorrow, Monday, when it will gradually subside, leaving waves of frost and ice in the mountains and inland areas.
Meteorologists warn of ice formation on mountain and inland roads starting Sunday night into Monday.
Expected Weather in Lebanon:
Sunday: Mostly cloudy with dense fog over the mountains, reducing visibility. Temperatures will drop noticeably, with scattered rain showers, sometimes heavy, accompanied by thunderstorms and possible hail. Winds will intensify. Snow will fall during the day at elevations of 1,600 meters, dropping at night to around 1,300 meters and lower in the northeastern mountains.
Monday: Partly to mostly cloudy with further temperature drop. Fog will form over the mountains. Scattered rain is expected, with some light snow at 1,100 meters. Rain will gradually subside, and weather will improve from midday as cold northern winds prevail. Ice formation and slippery roads are expected on inland and mountain roads above 1,000 meters during the night and early morning.
Tuesday: Partly cloudy. Cold conditions persist due to prevailing northern winds, occasionally reaching speeds of 45 km/h. The risk of ice remains on mountain and inland roads in the early morning and at night from elevations above 1,200 meters.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with high and medium clouds. Temperatures will rise slightly but remain below seasonal averages. Eastern winds may occasionally intensify, especially in southern Lebanon, reaching around 60 km/h.
