Former MP Mustafa Alloush said that the war has not ended, noting that developments within the Mechanism Committee came after the president’s call for negotiations, which led to a proposal to add a civilian member to the delegation. He added that all of this took place at a US request, while Israeli strikes have continued on the grounds that Resolution 1701 has not been fully implemented.
Speaking to MTV, Alloush said that to understand what the Israeli prime minister wants, one should go back to his book published in the early 1990s, A Place Under the Sun.
He added that Resolution 1701 clearly calls for border control and an end to arms smuggling, stressing that "there cannot be a state with two armies."
When asked about Hezbollah, Alloush said the party considers itself victorious as long as the regime in Iran has not fallen, describing Israel as an “absolute evil.”
