Minister Raggi discusses ways of bolstering cooperation with La Francophonie Representative

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Youssef Raggi received Lévon Amirjanyan, the Representative of the International Organization of La Francophonie in the Middle East, and discussed with him the ongoing cooperation program between the Organization and Lebanon in several fields, particularly economic cooperation, the promotion of the French language, the training of public administration employees, and the empowerment of women.
Minister Raggi expressed appreciation for the efforts undertaken by the Organization in Lebanon, welcomed the existing and ongoing cooperation between the two sides, and underscored the importance of Francophonie in Lebanon, which hosts the Orgainzation's regional headquarters, is a founding member, and plays a key role within it.
Ambassador Amirjanyan briefed Minister Raggi on the Francophonie Summit scheduled be held this year in Cambodia, with Lebanon's participation. The Summit will focus on the issue of peace and will also include the election of a new Secretary-General of the Organization.
