The Forecasting Division of the Meteorological Service at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation expects unstable and rainy weather over Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean basin until Saturday, gradually stabilizing by Monday night. The region is expected to be affected by a low-pressure system originating from Italy, bringing rain, snow, thunderstorms, and active winds.
Expected weather in Lebanon:
Thursday: Mostly cloudy with medium and high clouds. Temperatures rise back to seasonal averages, though nights remain relatively cold. Winds carrying dust will strengthen, especially in the south, reaching up to 65 km/h, occasionally reducing visibility. Scattered muddy rains are expected, particularly inland and in the south during the day. Clouds will gradually thicken from the afternoon, humidity will rise, and heavy rains may occur, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, with a chance of hail. Snowfall is expected at altitudes of 2000 meters at night, dropping to 1700 meters by early Friday.
Friday: Cloudy to partly cloudy with fog over the mountains. Slight drop in temperatures. Scattered rain, sometimes heavy, with lightning, thunder, and active winds during the morning. Snow is expected above 1800 meters. Wide breaks in cloud cover are expected in the afternoon.
Saturday: Partly cloudy to cloudy with fog over the mountains. No change in daytime temperatures, nighttime temperatures will drop. Scattered light rain and snow (snow above 1800 meters) may occur during the day, then the weather stabilizes at night. Ice formation on interior and mountain roads is expected above 1500 meters.
Sunday: Mostly clear with a slight rise in temperatures above seasonal averages. Winds will intensify at night, especially in the south.
Surface winds: Active southeast winds, especially in the south, reaching 65 km/h, gradually shifting during the day to active south-southwest winds.
Visibility: Good to moderate
Relative humidity on the coast: 40–90%
Sea condition: Rough
Sea surface temperature: 19°C
Atmospheric pressure: 1017 hPa (763 mmHg)
Sunrise: 06:41
Sunset: 16:59
