President of the Republic Joseph Aoun stressed the need for the state to stand by all its institutions and citizens, underscoring the importance of investing in research centers and in people so that science serves the nation and decision-makers.

Aoun said that Lebanon’s greatest asset remains its inexhaustible human wealth and national capacities on which the future is built.

President Aoun’s remarks came during a meeting at Baabda Palace with the Secretary General of the National Council for Scientific Research, Shadi Abdallah, and members of the council, who outlined the council’s role in damage assessment, scientific mapping, early warning, agriculture, food security, and digital planning during and after the recent war, in cooperation with international partners including the World Bank.

Welcoming the delegation, President Aoun praised the council’s achievements despite limited resources, noting that they reflect Lebanese creativity and commitment in difficult circumstances. He reaffirmed that supporting research institutions and human capital is a core duty of the state, as knowledge is essential to sound public policy and national recovery.

Separately, President Aoun met with Tripoli Dentists’ Syndicate, pledged to follow up on their demands, and later received the newly appointed Board of Directors of Casino du Liban, urging unified management, financial discipline, and the elimination of illegal practices to restore the casino’s cultural, touristic, and economic role.
