1/22/2026 9:28:00 PM

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam met in Davos with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, briefing him on the progress made in the government’s reform tracks, as well as on the issue of restricting weapons across all Lebanese territory.

Salam stressed that this marks the first time in more than 50 years that the Lebanese authorities have full operational control south of the Litani River, except for areas still occupied by Israel.

The prime minister expressed confidence in the improving security situation in the country, including control over the airport and ports, and voiced hope that this progress would help lift the ban on Lebanese exports as well as restrictions on travel by Saudi nationals to Lebanon.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan praised the efforts of the Lebanese government and reaffirmed his aspiration to strengthen Saudi–Lebanese relations and expand cooperation between the two countries across various fields.
