Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean are expected to remain under the influence of unsettled, rainy weather through Saturday, according to the Meteorological Department at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Weather conditions are forecast to gradually stabilize until next Tuesday, before the region is affected by a new low-pressure system originating from Italy, bringing rain, snowfall, thunderstorms, and active winds.
Forecast for Lebanon:
Friday: Partly to mostly cloudy with a slight drop in temperatures and scattered rainfall, particularly in northern areas from the afternoon onward. Fog will form over mountainous areas, leading to poor visibility.
Saturday: Partly to mostly cloudy with a chance of scattered rain and light snowfall during the day (snow above 1,800 meters). Weather will gradually stabilize at night. Icy conditions are expected on internal and mountainous roads above 1,500 meters overnight and in the early morning hours. Dense fog will persist over high elevations, further reducing visibility.
Sunday: Mostly clear with a slight rise in temperatures and active winds in northern regions.
Monday: Partly cloudy with high-level clouds and a slight increase in temperatures.
Additional conditions:
Surface winds will be southwesterly and active, with speeds ranging between 15 and 35 km/h.
Visibility will be good to moderate.
Relative humidity along the coast will range between 40 and 85 percent.
Sea conditions will be choppy, with a sea surface temperature of 20°C.
