Venezuela’s acting president Delcy Rodriguez has called for dialogue with the opposition three weeks after a swift U.S. operation that resulted in the arrest of President Nicolas Maduro.
Speaking on state television, Rodriguez said she could remain in office for up to six months pending new elections and stressed that despite political differences, consensus was necessary for the sake of the Venezuelan people. She added that political and partisan disputes should be set aside when it comes to preserving peace in Venezuela.
