Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad al-Hajjar praised the security forces, particularly the General Directorate of General Security, for their efforts in combating drug trafficking networks.
Al-Hajjar lauded the "qualitative operation" carried out at Rafic Hariri International Airport, which led to the arrest of an organized network involved in smuggling narcotics. He said the operation reflects the high level of readiness of Lebanon’s security agencies and reinforces confidence in the role of the state and its institutions in confronting cross-border crimes.
The minister stressed that Lebanon "will never be a platform or transit route for drug smuggling to brotherly or friendly countries," particularly the Saudi Arabia, affirming that Lebanese territory will not be used to undermine the security of Arab or international societies.
