The Media Office of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam issued a statement in response to reports attributing to him the remark, "We have nothing to give the teachers," stating: "The Media Office completely denies this news. During the meeting with the Basic Education Association, Salam emphasized that he does not want to make promises that cannot be fulfilled or provide inaccurate figures before the budget is approved, but he promised to continue discussions with the associations afterward. He also committed to starting the correction of wages and salaries before the end of February. The morning meeting with a delegation of public secondary, vocational, and basic education teachers was positive, and it was agreed to hold another meeting in two weeks."
