Armed Drug Dealer Arrested Following Attack on Army

Statement from the Lebanese Army – Directorate of Orientation:
As part of efforts to combat drug trafficking across Lebanon, and following surveillance and monitoring of gangs involved in drug distribution, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate arrested citizen (M.N.) on February 2, 2026, in the town of Nahlé – Baalbek for drug trafficking. During the arrest, the suspect opened fire on the patrol, which returned fire; no injuries were reported. A quantity of drugs, a handgun, and several stolen mobile phones were seized from his possession.
The confiscated items were handed over, and an investigation into the detainee has been launched under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
