Three consecutive earthquakes rattled the seismically active Sindirgi area in Balikesir province, western Turkey, on Sunday morning.

The first tremor struck at 9:41 am, registering a magnitude of 3.5 at a depth of 8.13 km. It was followed just 10 seconds later by a 4.1‑magnitude quake at a depth of 6.84 km, and a third tremor, measuring 4.0, occurred another 10 seconds afterward at 7.87 km depth.

Turkish media report no casualties or structural damage so far, although residents experienced temporary panic. The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) continues on-the-ground monitoring.

The Sindirgi region has a history of stronger earthquakes, including a magnitude 6.1 event in August and October 2025, keeping authorities and residents on alert.
