Salam leads a series of meetings

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam met at the Grand Serail with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, with whom he discussed developments related to the Mechanism meetings, the conference scheduled in Paris on March 5 to support the Lebanese Army, and the post-United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon phase.
Salam also received Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon Mojtaba Amani on a farewell visit marking the end of his diplomatic mission.
Later, Salam met a delegation from the National Moderation Bloc, including MPs Mohammad Sleiman, Ahmad Al-Khair, and Abdul Aziz Al-Samad, and former MP Hadi Hobeish.
In a statement, the bloc expressed support for the government’s efforts to extend state authority and implement the decision to confine arms exclusively to the state, commending the Lebanese Army’s role. It also called for urgent action on unsafe buildings in Tripoli and the North, approval of a general amnesty law, and continued follow-up on activating President Rene Mouawad Airport in Qlayaat as a development priority for the North and Lebanon as a whole.
