Berri Sends Ramadan and Lent Greetings, Highlights Dedication of Border Communities

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri congratulated the Lebanese people on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan and the beginning of Lent for Christian communities, saying:
"I extend my warmest congratulations, best wishes, and sincere prayers to all Lebanese, both Muslims and Christians. I hope and pray that this blessed convergence between the fasting periods of the followers of our two heavenly faiths, Christianity and Islam, will reflect our shared values of mercy, solidarity, patience, mutual support, and the rejection of hatred and enmity. This convergence should serve as a daily and enduring bond in our actions, safeguarding the dignity of every human being, regardless of their sect, and preserving the dignity of Lebanon. Love for our homeland is an essential part of faith."
On these blessed occasions, Speaker Berri also addressed the people of the southern border villages:
"A heartfelt salute of respect, appreciation, and congratulations goes to our families in the border villages, from Naqoura in the west to the highlands of the Arqoub region, and the districts of Hasbaya and Marjayoun in the east, including the villages of Bint Jbeil. To both the displaced and those who remain steadfast amidst the ruins of their homes, whether Christian or Muslim, your devotion and resilience are a testament to true faith. In these times, when Israeli aggression has intensified through occupation and attacks on civilians, tragically including children, most recently the martyr Ali Hassan Jaber, your observance of Ramadan, your patience, and your perseverance are the ultimate expressions of faith in God, your land, and humanity. Your sacrifices embody genuine national belonging and will undoubtedly pave the way for return, liberation, renewal, and hope for Lebanon."
