Lebanon Faces Another Waste Management Crisis

Aramco announced in a statement that “after being notified by the Council for Development and Reconstruction through consultant D.G. Jones of the decision to stop the Jdeideh landfill from receiving waste starting Wednesday morning, February 18, 2026, it has been decided to suspend all waste collection operations in various areas of the Matn and Keserwan districts.”

The company clarified that this suspension “is beyond its control and will continue until the landfill reopens and operations resume.”
