FPM challenges Government decision to impose gasoline tax

The Free Patriotic Movement confirmed in a statement that it supports the appeal filed before the State Council against the Cabinet’s decision to impose a tax on gasoline. The appeal was submitted by the Syndicate of Bus and Public Transport Vehicle Owners and Transport Offices through its lawyer, Fadi El Hajj.
The statement added that the party will spare no legal means in seeking to compel what it described as the incapable government to reverse its arbitrary decision, which would increase inflation and further burden citizens and even worsen the financial and economic crisis without addressing the demands of the public sector and retired military personnel or achieving the reform plans that this government does not possess in the first place.
