This morning, the Italian CIMIC of the Western Sector of UNIFIL, in close coordination with the local authorities, organized a free medical visit session to the population displaced by the Blue Line who still find themselves hospitable at Al Burghuliyah. Italian doctors have examined and delivered medicines to over one hundred people, women, men, and children who have had to abandon their homes for nearly two years.

Today's activity was also realized as a profound sign of closeness to the communities of southern Lebanon in the important month of Ramadan.

The support offered in the health and education sectors is essential for the UNIFIL Sector Western and for all its efforts. In recent month the CIMIC of Sector West and the international SW assets, conducted more the 1000 visit to elders, men, women and children.

UNIFIL continues every day in its work to support the authorities of southern Lebanon and the population. At the same time, alongside the LAF, it patrols south Lebanon every day, monitoring and recording any violations of Resolution 1701.
