Authorities Probe Drug Trafficking in Mount Lebanon

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division announced the arrest of two individuals on charges of drug trafficking in Mount Lebanon.

According to the statement, the ISF’s Information Branch received intelligence about two unidentified men involved in distributing drugs in the region. Following investigations, the authorities identified the suspects and arrested them in flagrante delicto in the town of Jbeil while they were allegedly trafficking drugs from a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee, which was also seized.

The arrested individuals were identified as:

- M. K., born in 2004, Syrian national

- J. H., born in 2001, Lebanese national

A search of the suspects and the vehicle led to the seizure of:

- 26 packages containing a substance identified as “baz”

- 12 containers of cocaine

- One package of foreign-origin cocaine

- 17 bags containing hashish

An undisclosed sum of money and three mobile phones

During interrogation, both suspects reportedly confessed to the charges against them, acknowledging that they had been distributing drugs across various areas in Mount Lebanon.

Legal proceedings were taken against the two men, who were transferred along with the seized materials to the competent authorities upon orders from the judiciary.
