President Aoun meets French Envoy, discusses economic corridor initiative

President of the Republic Joseph Aoun discussed with the French President’s Special Envoy for the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) initiative, Gérard Mestrallet, the progress achieved by the initiative, the development of the corridor's concept and its objectives in strengthening trade connectivity, infrastructure, and energy and digital links between India, countries in the region and Europe. The discussion also addressed the current direction toward diversifying routes and enhancing resilience in light of geopolitical changes.

President Aoun affirmed Lebanon's "readiness to engage within the framework of the initiative, in a manner that serves its national interests and strengthens its logistical position in the region."
