Salam broaches general situation with Qatari Ambassador

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received Qatar's Ambassador to Lebanon, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, at the Grand Serail.
The discussion touched on the overall situation in addition to the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Premier Salam also met with Latvia’s Minister of Health Hosams Abu Meri, in the presence of the Latvian Consul General in Lebanon, Gerard Renno.
The meeting addressed the general situation in Lebanon and the region, and the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Salam later received the Committee for the Care of Prisoners and Their Families affiliated to Dar al-Fatwa, headed by its Lawyer Hassan Afif Kashli, who briefed the Premier on the activities and work of the Committee.
Kashli said on emerging, ‘’We briefed the Premier on the humanitarian, social, and legal efforts undertaken by the committee, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, by supporting prisoners and their families, providing logistical necessities and addressing their daily living conditions."
The delegation stressed the need to approve the general amnesty law.
Among Premier Salam’s itinerant visitors for today had been Lebanon’s Ambassador to Ivory Coast, Majida Karaki.
