Aoun Urges Maximum Readiness to Shield Lebanon from Regional Fallout

President Joseph Aoun held a series of high-level consultations as part of ongoing efforts to monitor rapidly unfolding regional developments and their potential repercussions on the country.
The contacts included Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, Public Works Minister Fayez Rasamny, U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa, and Lebanese Army Commander Rodolph Haykal. Aoun also held consultations yesterday with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
The president stressed the need for the highest levels of readiness and coordination among constitutional authorities and relevant security agencies to safeguard Lebanon. He emphasized that the current sensitive phase requires full national responsibility and prioritizing Lebanon’s supreme interests above all other considerations.
Aoun underscored that sparing Lebanon from the disasters and horrors of external conflicts, and preserving its sovereignty, security, and stability, remain an absolute priority.
The President called for unified efforts and strengthened internal solidarity to confront looming challenges and prevent any repercussions from affecting Lebanese territory and its people.
He reaffirmed that the state, through all its institutions, will remain the primary guarantor of security, stability, and the protection of all citizens and the entirety of Lebanese territory.
