Lebanese Forces Ministers Seek Legal Action Against Hezbollah

3/2/2026 11:52:51 AM

Lebanese Forces Ministers requested that the ministerial decision include a text stating that, building on the ongoing efforts made by the government to keep Lebanon away from regional conflicts, and in line with the repeated calls issued by the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, and the decisions of the Higher Defense Council urging Lebanon’s neutrality and non-involvement in the ongoing war, and based on the constitutional principles that vest the authority over war and peace exclusively in the state, as well as the parliamentary majority’s position expressing the will of the Lebanese people to preserve Lebanon’s neutrality and stability, the events of March 2 at dawn constitute a clear assault on the credibility of the state, a rebellion against its constitutional institutions, and a violation of Cabinet decisions, as well as a breach of the will of the majority of Lebanese people by considering Hezbollah an outlawed organization due to its violation of the Constitution and Cabinet resolutions and its undertaking of actions that expose the Lebanese state, its institutions, and its sovereignty to risk.

They also called on all authorities, security agencies, and official institutions to deal with Hezbollah on this basis, and to take all necessary legal and executive measures against those responsible for decisions that violate the law, as well as against those who implemented them and entities associated with the organization.
