Information Minister Paul Morcos issued a statement in light of the recent military developments, stressing the need to respect international humanitarian law, particularly provisions related to the protection of civilians and civilian institutions, including journalists and media organizations.

Morcos called on the international community not only to keep media workers neutral but also to ensure their protection by parties to the conflict, allowing them to carry out their duties safely.

The Minister also urged media outlets and social media users in Lebanon to uphold professional responsibility and accuracy in reporting, avoid hate speech, misinformation, and misuse of artificial intelligence, and respect the dignity of victims.

Morcos further encouraged influencers and content creators to highlight the humanitarian needs of displaced people, particularly those who remain without shelter, and to promote a culture of solidarity during these difficult circumstances.
