Jumblatt meets Aoun, voices support for state authority

MP Taymour Jumblatt, visited President Joseph Aoun at Baabda Palace, heading a delegation from the Progressive Socialist Party and the Democratic Gathering bloc.
Following the meeting, Jumblatt said the visit aimed to express support and solidarity with the president under the current circumstances.
Jumblatt noted that residents of south Lebanon are "paying the price for the recklessness of some parties in Lebanon and abroad," stressing that the decision of war and peace must remain in the hands of the Lebanese state.
Jumblatt also called for strict adherence to and implementation of the Taif Agreement and reaffirmed political and moral support for the Lebanese Army.
