The mayor of Deir Mimas, Suhail Abu Jamra, appealed to the Lebanese Army not to abandon the area.
He also called for urgent support to secure electricity, medical care, and essential medicines.
The town is located in the Marjeyoun district in the Nabatieh governorate.
