EU sanctions 19 Iranian officials over protests

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said the bloc agreed to target 19 Iranian individuals and organisations over what it claimed are serious human rights abuses linked to Tehran’s crackdown on mass protests.
The move comes as the Israeli-US war on Iran continues to widen across the region, with strikes causing heavy civilian casualties.
“As the Iran war continues, the EU will protect its interests and pursue those responsible for domestic repression,” Kallas said.
