Supreme Islamic Shiite Council: Saturday will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr

The following statement was issued by the Supreme Islamic Shiite Council:
“The crescent of the month of Shawwal for the year 1447 AH was not sighted this evening. Accordingly, tomorrow, Friday, February 20, 2026, will complete the blessed month of Ramadan, and Saturday, February 21, will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
May Allah bring it back to the Lebanese, Arabs, and Muslims with goodness, prosperity, and blessings.”
