Early March Brings Unseasonal Rain and Snow

The Forecasting Department of the Meteorological Service at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation expects unstable weather over Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean due to a low-pressure system centered southwest of Turkey. Its effects will intensify starting Wednesday morning, bringing a drop in temperatures, heavy rain accompanied by occasional lightning and thunder, and snow over the highlands, continuing until the end of the week.
Warning: Ice formation on mountain and inland roads is expected from 1,400 meters above sea level.

Monday: Partly cloudy to cloudy with fog over the highlands. Slight rise in temperatures, which remain below seasonal averages. Scattered rain, intensifying in the afternoon, especially in the north, with lightning and thunder. Snow is expected at 1,500 meters and above. Nighttime clearing may cause ice formation from 1,400 meters upward.
Tuesday: Partly cloudy to cloudy with fog over the highlands. Slight temperature increase in the highlands. Scattered rain in the inland areas, intensifying in the afternoon, especially in the northeast, with lightning and thunder. Snow expected at 1,600 meters and above.
Wednesday: Cloudy with fog over the highlands and a drop in temperatures. Scattered heavy rain before noon, with lightning, thunder, and strong winds. Snow at 1,500 meters and above.
Thursday: Cloudy with fog over the highlands and further temperature drop. Scattered rain, occasionally heavy, with lightning, thunder, and strong winds. Snow at 1,500 meters and above.
