Speaker Berri later received former Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister Elias El-Murr, with whom he discussed the latest political and field developments, as well as the issue of the displaced persons.

Additionally, Berri also discussed the displacement dossier and and the amnesty law during his meeting with a parliamentary delegation that included MPs Nabil Badr, Sajih Attieh, Ahmad Al-Khair, Bilal Houchaimi, Mohammad Suleiman, and Haidar Nasser, in the presence of Speaker Berri's political advisor, Ali Hassan Khalil, Development and Liberation parliamentary bloc MP.

After the meeting, MP Badr said: "We discussed with Speaker Berri a number of pressing national issues that concern the Lebanese people at this critical stage in our country’s history. During the meeting, we emphasized the pivotal role played by the Speaker as a national reference capable of acting as a responsible mediator among the various Lebanese components, contributing to bringing viewpoints closer together, reducing differences, and consolidating a climate of dialogue and understanding."

He added: "We also stressed that the current national priority must focus on the issue of displaced persons and their accommodation, in a way that ensures regulating their presence within legal frameworks, while at the same time preserving the particularity of Lebanese society, safeguarding coexistence, and preventing any destabilization of civil peace - until conditions are in place for their safe and dignified return to their homes."

Badr continued, "The discussion also addressed the issue of the draft general amnesty law, where we explained to the Speaker the national and humanitarian dimensions of approving the proposed amnesty law we submitted, as it constitutes a gateway to addressing many outstanding social and humanitarian issues. It would also contribute to turning the page of suffering and opening a window of hope for a broad segment of the Lebanese society, within a balanced approach that takes into account justice and fairness while preserving the authority of the state and its institutions."

Badr concluded, "Lebanon, despite all its crises, will remain a final homeland for all its citizens, and it can only be governed through consensus and preserved only through the unity of their will."
