Hezbollah Issues Statement on Foreign Ministry Decision

Hezbollah issued the following statement:
“We strongly condemn and reject the decision by the Lebanese Foreign Ministry, which we consider legally unfounded, to withdraw approval for the accreditation of Iran’s ambassador-designate to Lebanon, Mohammad Reza Sheibani. This reckless and condemnable step does not serve Lebanon’s highest national interests, its sovereignty, or its national unity; rather, it constitutes a breach of these principles and a clear submission to external pressures and dictates.
The flimsy pretexts cited in this arbitrary decision, accusing the ambassador of interfering in Lebanon’s internal affairs, further confirm that it is a politically vindictive move, completely lacking wisdom and national responsibility. This suspicious action, issued at an extremely dangerous time, requires all Lebanese, across political, partisan, cultural, and social lines, to unite in confronting it.
What makes this decision even more serious is that it comes from a minister who remains entirely silent regarding blatant U.S. interference in Lebanon and the statements of its officials and envoys, which have harmed and incited against Lebanon and one of its core communities.
This decision is a major national and strategic error; it does not serve national unity, but rather deepens internal divisions, weakens the country, and exposes it to grave vulnerability. We call on the President and the Prime Minister to demand that the Foreign Minister, who has lost national credibility by placing partisan interests above Lebanon’s security and stability, immediately reverse this decision.”
