Nassar: State monopoly on arms non-negotiable

Justice Minister Adel Nassar said the government’s decision to restrict arms to state authority is final, stressing that any weapons outside this framework constitute a direct challenge to state sovereignty.
In a televised interview, Nassar accused Hezbollah of dragging Lebanon into war and obstructing diplomatic efforts, arguing that decisions of war are influenced by Iran.
He rejected narratives justifying the conflict, warning that continued militarization exposes Lebanon to further risks.
Nassar also defended measures taken against the Iranian ambassador as part of reinforcing sovereignty, and reaffirmed judicial independence, stressing that external pressures will not influence court proceedings.
