Berri, Egyptian FM discuss escalation and aid as Cairo reaffirms support for Lebanon

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, in Ain el-Tineh, in the presence of Ambassador Alaa Moussa, where talks focused on developments in Lebanon and the region amid continued Israeli escalation and its humanitarian impact, particularly displacement.
Berri thanked Egypt for its continued support, praising its efforts to halt the offensive.
Abdelatty conveyed a message of full solidarity from Egypt’s leadership, announcing the delivery of nearly 1,000 tons of humanitarian aid. He condemned Israeli attacks and stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire, full implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, and support for Lebanese state institutions, particularly the army, to assert sovereignty and ensure arms remain under state control.
Separately, Berri met EU Ambassador Sandra De Waele and Public Works Minister Fayez Rasamny to review developments and ministry operations.
