Easter school vacation dates announced

The Minister of Education Rima Karami issued a circular officially setting the Easter holiday for the Catholic and Orthodox Christian communities.
The circular states:
- Based on Decree No. 53 dated 8/2/2025 (on the formation of the government),
- Based on Decree No. 2089 dated 18/10/1971 and its amendments, particularly Article 4 (regulating actual school days in public schools),
- Based on Decree No. 5215 dated 27/9/2005 (establishing official holidays and occasions),
- Based on Decision No. 1460/M/2010 dated 7/10/2010 (determining school holidays across all types and levels of public schools),
- Based on Administrative Memorandum No. 7/2026 dated 26/3/2026 from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, regarding the closure of public administrations and institutions on Good Friday and Easter for Catholic and Orthodox Christian communities.
All public and private secondary schools, technical institutes, and educational institutions, regardless of type or level, will be closed during the following periods:
- For Catholic communities: from the morning of Thursday, April 2, 2026, until the evening of Monday, April 6, 2026, covering Good Friday and Easter.
- For Orthodox communities: from the morning of Thursday, April 9, 2026, until the evening of Monday, April 13, 2026, covering Good Friday and Easter.
On this occasion, the Minister of Education extends her warmest wishes to all education sector staff, both public and private, and highly commends their efforts during this period in fulfilling their vital national role.
