What Weather Will March Leave Us With?

The Forecasting Department of the Meteorological Service at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has predicted that a low-pressure system will affect Lebanon and the Eastern Mediterranean, accompanied by cold air masses that will cause a drop in temperatures, heavy rainfall at times with lightning and thunder, snowfall over the highlands, and strong winds, especially in the northern regions. The impact of the low-pressure system will continue until Monday evening, gradually subsiding, with temperatures rising again starting Tuesday.
Warning: Sea waves may rise up to 3 meters, especially in the north.
Expected weather in Lebanon:
Sunday: Cloudy with dense fog over the highlands and lower temperatures. Scattered, initially muddy rain showers will fall, sometimes intensifying, particularly in the southern regions, with lightning, thunder, and the possibility of hail. Snow will fall above 1,700 meters, dropping to around 1,500 meters in northern highlands by evening. Winds will pick up in the north, reaching 75 km/h. Sea waves may rise up to 3 meters.
Monday: Mostly cloudy with fog over the highlands and further temperature drops below seasonal averages. Scattered to heavy rain showers will occur in the morning with lightning and thunder. Snow will fall above 1,500 meters. Winds remain active, especially in the north, with high waves. Rain intensity will decrease after noon and gradually subside at night, becoming partly cloudy.
Tuesday: Partly cloudy with fog over the highlands, rising temperatures, and lower humidity.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy with high clouds. Temperatures will rise above seasonal averages. Winds will pick up in the evening, carrying dust layers. Clouds will thicken by early Thursday, preparing conditions for scattered muddy rain showers with lightning and thunder, especially in the southern regions.
Additional details:
Surface winds: southwest to southeast, 15–40 km/h, reaching up to 75 km/h in the north
Visibility: generally moderate, sometimes poor over highlands due to fog and rain
Relative humidity on the coast: 50–80%
Sea condition: rough
Sea surface temperature: 18°C
Atmospheric pressure: 1009 hPa (757 mmHg)
Sunrise: 06:28
Sunset: 18:57
