France Reaffirms Support for Lebanon, Donates Armored Vehicles

France’s Minister Delegate for the Armed Forces Alice Rufo is visiting Lebanon to reaffirm Paris’s support for Lebanese sovereignty and its longstanding commitment, particularly through United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon.
During the visit, she will lay a wreath at the Pine Residence in tribute to 58 French soldiers killed in the 1983 Drakkar bombing, and express solidarity with Indonesian UNIFIL troops following recent attacks.
Rufo will also hand over 39 armored vehicles to the Lebanese Armed Forces.
She is scheduled to meet President Joseph Aoun, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and Defense Minister Michel Menassa, in line with commitments made by French President Emmanuel Macron.
