Aoun holds a series of meetings

Baabda Presidential Palace witnessed a series of diplomatic, parliamentary and security meetings.
In this framework, President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received Catholicos Aram I Keshishian of the Armenian Orthodox Church, accompanied by Bishops Shahi Panossian and Daghat Ashakian.
The discussion reportedly touched on the general developments in the country and a number of issues related to the Armenian Orthodox community in Lebanon.
Following the meeting, Catholicos Aram I said: "We visited His Excellency the President of the Lebanese Republic, General Joseph Aoun, to express, on our own behalf and on behalf of our community, our solidarity with His Excellency and our support for the efforts and positions he is taking personally and with the government."
Catholicos Aram I added: "Preserving the unity and sovereignty of Lebanese territory, strengthening the state’s authority over it, maintaining the army’s presence in all Lebanese regions, and safeguarding national unity, especially under the current critical circumstances, are urgent priorities. We are fully confident that this is what every Lebanese citizen desires. Therefore, statements that provoke internal sensitivities must be avoided, and efforts should focus on rallying around public interest."
Aram I continued: "Lebanon is facing grave dangers. The Israeli incursion into southern Lebanon and the ongoing shellings and assassinations are strongly condemned. Israel’s violations constitute a breach of international law, and accordingly, the international community- particularly friendly countries- must not stand idly by in the face of ongoing Israeli aggression. As for the displacement dossier, it is necessary to adopt a well-considered and sustainable approach. We commend the efforts made by the state and all communities towards the displaced, hoping that conditions will soon improve so they can return to their homes and regions."
President Aoun also received at Baabda palace Qatari Ambassador to Lebanon, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, with whom he discussed current local and regional developments, as well as bilateral ties.
Aoun reiterated Lebanon’s condemnation of attacks targeting Qatar, expressing solidarity and hoping for the restoration of security and stability in Qatar and across the Gulf states.
Aoun also met at Baabda palace with the Director General of State Security, Major General Edgar Lawandos, who briefed him on the tasks carried out by the Directorate in several areas, particularly in the field of combating corruption.
