Three Injured in New Attack on UNIFIL

The official spokesperson for UNIFIL, Kandice Ardiel announced that “an explosion at a United Nations site near the Adaisseh area injured three peacekeepers, two of them seriously. They are currently being transported to the hospital, and the source of the explosion remains unknown.”
She added: “This week has been difficult for the peacekeeping forces operating near the central area of UNIFIL’s area of operations. We wish a swift and full recovery to all those injured.”
Ardiel concluded: “UNIFIL reminds all parties of their obligations to ensure the safety and security of peacekeeping forces, including avoiding any combat activities nearby that could put them at risk.”
