Minister of Information Paul Morcos responded to a question during an interview on the Greek TV channel Open regarding whether US President Donald Trump’s statement about the approaching end of the war in Iran would affect Lebanon, particularly given Israel’s intentions to remain in the south.

Morcos described the announcement as "an important development," but stressed that "Lebanon does not want to be linked to any regional or international path related to this war."

He emphasized that "the Lebanese state does not wish to engage in any war," highlighting that President Joseph Aoun has proposed a clear initiative based on negotiations under international auspices. However, he added that pressure must be applied on Israel to respond to this initiative.

The minister called for support of the president’s plan to halt hostilities and begin negotiations under an international framework. He also urged for urgent assistance, including financial, in-kind, and humanitarian support for displaced persons.
