The Lebanese Army, Directorate of Orientation, issued the following statement:

"On 5/4/2026, at approximately 21:00, an apartment in the Ain Saadeh area – Matn was targeted in a hostile Israeli strike with two GBU-39 bombs, launched from an aircraft or naval vessel, as part of the broader aggression against Lebanon. A specialized army unit arrived at the scene to conduct a field survey and collect evidence. It was determined that the two bombs penetrated the building’s roof and the fourth floor, exploding on the third floor, which was the intended target. This attack resulted in the deaths of three residents on that floor and injuries to others. Initial investigations also confirmed that there were no new tenants in the building.

Furthermore, it was noted that one individual was seen leaving the building on a motorcycle immediately after the airstrike. Investigations are ongoing to identify this person and clarify other details.

The Army Command calls on the public to refrain from speculation regarding this attack and to exercise awareness and responsibility while the investigation continues."
