Iraqi President reaffirms support for Lebanon, condemns Israeli attacks in call with Aoun

President of the Republic Joseph Aoun received a phone call this afternoon from Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, who expressed his condemnation of the ongoing Israeli attacks against Lebanon and its people, particularly the targeting of the capital Beirut and its suburbs, which has resulted in dozens of casualties and hundreds of injuries.
The Iraqi president also conveyed the solidarity of the Iraqi people with the Lebanese people, supporting the positions of the Lebanese president and government, as well as Lebanon’s efforts to halt the escalation.
President Aoun thanked his Iraqi counterpart for his stance, expressing particular appreciation for Iraq’s continued support for Lebanon across various sectors.
