Vance hopes for a "positive" outcome to talks with Iran as he heads to Islamabad

US Vice President JD Vance departed the United States on Friday for Pakistan to participate in anticipated talks with Iran, expressing hope for a "positive" outcome that would bring a definitive end to the war in the Middle East, according to Agence France-Presse.

"We will try to have positive negotiations," Vance told reporters before his plane took off from Andrews Air Force Base near Washington, D.C., adding, "If the Iranians are ready..."
