The Italian Chief of Defense Staff affirmed his country's commitment to standing by Lebanon, especially in light of the exceptional circumstances it is going through, stressing the continued support for the Lebanese Army. He further emphasized Italy's continued participation in the UNIFIL forces operating in southern Lebanon until the completion of their mission, confirming Italy’s readiness to maintain its presence and provide support after these missions conclude at the end of this year.
In turn, Minister Menassa thanked Italy for the support it provides to Lebanon in international forums, as well as in the humanitarian and military fields, expressing hope for the continuation of this role and for friendly countries to exert pressure on Israel to cease fire and withdraw from southern Lebanon.
