Ambassador Nada Mouawad Outlines Position on Negotiations to MTV

Lebanon’s ambassador in Washington Nada Moawad said the Lebanese–Israeli talks were a good preliminary meeting.
Moawad added in a statement to MTV: “I reiterated the urgent need for the full implementation of the November 2024 cessation of hostilities agreement.”
She continued: “I stressed the safety of our territory and full state sovereignty over all Lebanese land, and called for a ceasefire and the return of displaced people to their homes.”
She said: “I called for practical steps to ease the acute humanitarian crisis the country continues to face as a result of the ongoing conflict. The date and location of the next meeting will be announced later.”
Ambassador Moawad also thanked “the U.S. side for hosting the meeting and facilitating the talks.”
