Prime Minister Nawaf Salam wrote on his X account:
“I welcome the announcement of the ceasefire declared by President Trump, which is a key Lebanese demand that we have sought since the first day of the war, and it was our primary objective during the Washington meeting on Tuesday. As I congratulate all Lebanese on this achievement, I mourn the martyrs who fell, express my solidarity with their families, with the wounded, and with the citizens who were forced to flee their towns and villages, and I remain hopeful that they will be able to return as soon as possible.
I also extend my thanks to all regional and international efforts that contributed to reaching this outcome, particularly those of the United States, France, and European Union countries, as well as all Arab brothers, foremost among them the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Republic of Egypt, in addition to the State of Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.”
