Salam: We Will Not Back Down on Restricting Weapons in Beirut

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam published the following on X:
“The government’s decision to strictly enforce full state authority over the governorate of Beirut, and to restrict weapons within it exclusively to legitimate forces, in order to protect citizens’ safety, security, and property, issued on the 9th of this month, is irreversible and we will strictly enforce its implementation.
This is what I reaffirmed today to Beirut MPs representing the meeting held yesterday under the slogan: ‘Beirut is safe and free of weapons.’”
