Israeli army: We detected a breach in southern Lebanon and acted immediately

Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee wrote on his X account:
“Over the past 24 hours, IDF forces operating south of the Blue Line in southern Lebanon identified militants who violated the ceasefire understandings and approached areas north of the Blue Line toward the troops, posing an immediate threat.
Upon detecting them, and in order to eliminate the threat, the air force and ground forces carried out strikes targeting the militants in several areas in southern Lebanon.
Artillery shelling was also conducted to support ground forces operating in the area, and terrorist infrastructure was destroyed to address the threats.
The IDF operates in accordance with directives from the political leadership, and accordingly, it has the right to take the necessary measures in self-defense in the face of threats, while ensuring the security of Israeli citizens and forces deployed in the field. Actions taken in self-defense and to eliminate threats are not restricted during the ceasefire period.
The IDF will not allow any harm to Israeli citizens or its soldiers and will take all necessary measures to ensure their security. It will continue to operate to clear the area under its control of any threat targeting Israeli citizens and its forces.”
