The Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced that the Israeli army “eliminated a cell operating near its forces in the forward defensive line area to prevent a direct threat to northern towns.”
He wrote on X that earlier today the 401st Brigade detected what he described as a “terrorist cell” that violated the ceasefire understandings and approached Israeli forces in southern Lebanon, specifically south of the forward defensive line used to prevent direct threats to northern towns.
He added that the air force carried out a strike that eliminated the members of the cell, and that the army also targeted an underground tunnel opening south of the defensive line, striking Hezbollah members as they entered it, with confirmed hits.
Adraee stated that the army is acting under political directives, emphasizing that it reserves the right to self-defense measures and will continue operations to remove threats, maintain security for Israeli citizens and troops, and “clear the area” under its control.
