Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee wrote on X that, as part of operations carried out by the 769th Brigade south of the forward defensive line to locate and destroy infrastructure in the village of Khiam in southern Lebanon, forces found inside a civilian clothing shop a tunnel approximately 25 meters deep allegedly used as a headquarters by Hezbollah, containing weapons and rooms used to manage combat operations.
He added that Hezbollah integrates what he described as “terror infrastructure” within civilian areas, putting Lebanon’s residents at risk, and said that building underground facilities in populated areas reflects what he called a deliberate exploitation of Lebanese civilians for Hezbollah’s purposes.
He stressed that the Israeli army will continue to operate to clear the area under its control and remove any threat to Israeli citizens and its forces.
